Set Sail for the 23rd Annual Opening Day of Boating
Mukilteo Yacht Club · Saturday, May 2 · Guest Dock 5, Port of Everett · Open to All Boaters
There’s something timeless about the start of boating season. The creak of lines, the smell of salt air, and the sight of vessels dressed in their finest colors gliding past cheering crowds — Opening Day captures everything we love about life on Puget Sound. And this May, the Mukilteo Yacht Club is throwing open the gates to everyone.
Now in its 23rd year, Opening Day of Boating takes place at Guest Dock 5 at the Port of Everett on Saturday, May 2nd, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor, a weekend cruiser, or simply someone who loves the pageantry of the sea, you’re warmly welcome.
The day kicks off with registration and a Captains Meeting aboard the Party Barge, followed by the beloved Blessing of the Fleet. At noon (weather permitting), boats depart the dock for the Parade of Boats, winding inside the breakwater before returning to Guest Dock 5 — a wonderful spectacle whether you’re in the parade or watching from shore.
After the parade, People’s Choice Voting runs from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and the day wraps up with an Awards Presentation at 6:00 p.m. — both held aboard the Party Barge.
