Rosehill Traffic Camera Enforcement Threshold Being Lowered

Drivers traveling near Rosehill should pay closer attention to the posted speed limit as Mukilteo adjusts its automated traffic safety camera enforcement.

According to the Mukilteo Police Department’s Facebook page, the speed threshold for the Rosehill camera began gradually decreasing on July 10. The camera had previously been set to issue citations to drivers traveling at least 11 mph over the posted speed limit. As the threshold is lowered, drivers may receive citations for exceeding the speed limit by a smaller amount.

The adjustment is intended to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and everyone else who uses the roadway. Lower speeds give drivers more time to react, shorten stopping distances and can reduce the severity of crashes.

Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted speed limit and use extra care when traveling through the Rosehill area. Slowing down is one simple way everyone can help keep Mukilteo’s streets safer.
