Holiday Fun in Mukilteo: Lighthouses, Lights, and Festive Cheer
The holidays are a magical time in Mukilteo, WA, with events that blend history, community, and festive fun. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the season, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Explore the Historic Mukilteo Lighthouse
Kick off the holiday weekend with a visit to the Mukilteo Lighthouse, a working beacon since 1906. On Black Friday (November 29) and Saturday (November 30), the lighthouse will be open from 1 PM to 4 PM. Climb the 38-foot wooden tower to see the 4th order Fresnel lens, crafted in France in 1852 and installed here in 1917. This light, visible up to 12 miles away, has guided mariners for over a century.
While there, step onto the Gallery deck to enjoy sweeping views of Possession Sound, Washington State Ferries, and passing Orcas if you’re lucky. The lighthouse grounds include two historic keeper’s quarters, one of which houses a gift shop offering unique treasures and holiday finds.
Entrance is free, though donations to the Mukilteo Historical Society are appreciated. After your tour, explore Lighthouse Park, where you can picnic, stroll along the beach, or warm up by the firepits.
