The Mark IV Torpedo

July 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Did you know that the first torpedoes used by U.S. submarines in World War II gave the Navy nothing but problems? Although these flaws were hidden the Navy’s ordnance bureaucracy in the early years of WWII, they likely set the war effort back by several months until a suitable torpedo was introduced into service in 1943. Join us on Saturday, July 13 for a 30-minute talk with FHCAM docent Rick Slater to learn more about this incredible chapter in World War II history.
