Sherman Tank Firing Night

October 1 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join The Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum on October 1, 2019 from 6 pm – 9 pm at FHCAM for a night of firing their M4 Sherman. Prior to the firing FHCAM’s armor team will talk about the use of the M4 Sherman throughout WWII and how the museum maintains the artifact today. Furthermore, FHCAM staff will share the true story of the actual Boomerang, for which their Sherman is named and they will honor Thurman Meeks, a crew member of the Boomerang who was killed in combat on October 1, 1944.

Schedule:

  • 6:00 pm: Doors open
  • 7:00 pm: Presentation on Sherman and Thurman Meeks by Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum’s Armor Team
  • 7:45 pm: Sherman Demo/firing
  • 8:00 pm: Question & Answers
  • 8:30 pm: Event ends
  • 9:00 pm: Museum closes

  • Adults: $20.00
  • Youth: $15.00
  • Members and Volunteers get into this event for half price.
